Under WAC 246-272A-0270, at least once every three years for a system that is only a tank and gravity drainfield, and every year for all other systems, unless your local health department requires more often. Pierce County treats gravity and pressure systems as every 3 years, and complex systems such as aerobic treatment units every year.

Accepted Answer

Yes. Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department requires an inspection, and pumping of all tanks, when a house with a septic system is sold, whatever the system type.
