Check the Pro is run by Cakewalk, Tacoma, WA. This covers what we collect on checkthepro.com and what we do with it.

When you ask for a pro

We collect your name, phone number, town, optional email, and what you tell us about the job. We share it with one local pro so they can contact you about that request, and with Cakewalk staff who route it. We keep a record of the consent you gave, word for word, with the time and your IP address. The consent reads:

I agree that Check the Pro (run by Cakewalk) and the one local pro it passes my request to may call or text me at this number about this request, including with automated technology. Agreeing isn't a condition of buying anything. Message and data rates may apply.

We never sell your details, and never pass the same request to several companies at once.

Photos you upload

Photos sent to the photo check or the water heater tool are analysed by an AI model to produce your result. We don't publish them, and don't attach them to a request unless you send one.

Contractor searches

Searches on Check a contractor are sent to Washington's public register to answer them. We don't keep a record tied to you.
